Instruct-ERIC is pleased to welcome CESSDA Director Bonnie Wolff-Boenisch as Chair of the ERIC Forum, and ACTRIS Director General Eija Juurola as Vice-Chair.
The ERIC Forum is currently made up of 29 ERICs across Europe, and discusses and manages commonly shared challenges in fields ranging from human resources management, VAT, as well as the socio-economic impact of ERICs.
The new leadership follows the outgoing Chair Antje Keppler (Euro-BioImaging) and Vice Chair Allen Weeks (ELI-ERIC). To both, we in Instruct are incredibly thankful for their shaping of the ERIC Forum.

Prof. Harald Schwalbe, Instruct-ERIC Director, commented: “The ERIC Forum has a very important role to play in the exchange of concepts, ideas, services and research opportunities at the European research infrastructures. Its recognition has increased in the recent past. We in Instruct look forward to working with the new chair Bonnie Wolff-Boenisch and vice-chair Eija Juurola, to identify and promote the numerous common opportunities provided by ERICs.”
Instruct-ERIC and CESSDA
CESSDA is the ERIC for social science data archives, providing data services and coordinating data archives in Europe. Instruct collaborated with CESSDA as part of the ERIC Forum 2 project, specifically working on communications in WP9 and WP16 to upskill staff in media training and to disseminate ERIC objectives and results. Instruct also work with CESSDA in WP13 to collect and address common challenge and best practices for distributed, single-sited, and multi-sited ERICs.
In addition to the ERIC Forum, Instruct has worked closely with CESSDA as part of EOSC Future and EOSC Beyond, and also as part of the eRImote project, identifying and developing tools and resources for remote access capabilities for research infrastructures.
Instruct-ERIC and ACTRIS
Instruct has interacted with ACTRIS, with Head of Operations Claudia Alén Amaro part of the ATMO-Access advisory board sharing Instruct’s best practices on access provision to advanced infrastructure.
ACTRIS provides access to high-quality long-term atmospheric data through their dedicated facilities.
