The Structural Virology lab recently elucidated elusive structures of viruses causing disease in insects and humans. The unexpected architecture of these viral pathogens posed key new questions on how they assemble such complex infectious particles and invade target cells.
The Research Fellow postdoctoral position is an opportunity to lead a research project aiming to answer these key questions using cryo-EM, X-ray crystallography and/or molecular modelling as the main approaches. Ultimately, the research aims to elucidate biological mechanisms unique in the virus world, and guide the design of new biotech and biomedical tools.
